It's not hard work like tilling the fields - and when the medical community says "breathing is labored" they just mean there is obvious difficulty breathing.

It's an apt word, it's a tremendous event, but I wouldn't say it is hard work - this is what we are built for, it kind of comes naturally.

Giving birth is one of the most painful things in the world...so I'd say it's called labor because it is a lot of hard painful work

Well i think they call it that for a reason. It is very hard even with pain meds. You just dont know what kind of strength you have untill you push that baby out. Its takes so much strength that i dont know how women do it when they go with out meds i was tired and i was all doped up.

PLEASE! Pregnancy, labor and delivery are all hard work. Use birth control....it's obvious you aren't ready for the reality of birth.

I checked your questions...if you are already pregnant, get the book: What to Expect When You Are Expecting and all your questions will be honestly answered.

There are no coincidences...
but if you don't take my word for it don't go getting pregnant with the hopes that there are, you'll be in for a world of trouble!

It is such hard work. I thought it would never end. But when you see that baby you forget about all that pain and enjoy what you have as a reward.
