I saw some "miniature sesame seeds" outside at an ant hill crawling around with the ants. My guess is they are babies of some sort.

If your cats are walking on the counter it could be nymph ticks....My dog got covered in a million of them once and he ran around the house for 2 hours before we noticed. They were everywhere. Step 1-freak out Step 2- get vacuuming. UGGG.

Those are just the babies. Mama had a nest right there. Some of them came out someplace around there but the rest are working their way up the inside of your walls. They'll come out sooner or later. No worries.

Use a insect killer that will not affect humans since it is inside your house and if still they are still alive, i think you have to contact a professional pest control guy to help you. Make sure that there is nothing always damp on your kitchen and your trash is always sealed.
