my laptop is not wireless yet. but i want to try and hook it up to my home computer network how can i do this... or is it possible? i have a cord that has 2 phone cord like plugs at each end. but i don't know what to do with it. i've tired unplugging my home computer wire that goes into the phone jack and plugging one of the laptop cords in there and hookin the other end to the laptop. but it still doesn't connect.

please help

you have to have networking hardware for both computers

you have two options. either you buy a wi-fi dongle, that's like this usb flash disk that you hook up to detect hotspots, or buy a pc card that supports networking or LAN if you plan to hook it up to just one other computer. a hub or router may be needed for more than two computers.

any of these options require you have xp if you are a pc user. having anything less is much a hassle to bear.

18. and dont purchase the workstation in order that u can goto myspace,youtube,facebook and the others. those website will tear that workstation up with undercover agent ware. additionally on account that ur a woman, ur the best aim for hackers on the internet sites i listed.

You can connect it to many ways...

if it has a USB port... get a USB to ETHERNET adapter, and plug into the ROUTER or SWITCH... and you're in.
