Start at your local racetrack, find local businesses who are interested in sponsoring a team. But the most important thing is to find someone who will show you the ropes, go to a driving school, but a lot of the drivers started from the ground up, go-carts, modifieds, etc. Find a machine shop or some business that deals in race parts. But the thing is to get your face and name out there to be recognized, because with most things, it's WHO you know as well as your talent. You can be the greatest racer, but have no personality and you have to SELL,SELL,SELL!

You have to immerse yourself in the world of racing (not the fan side) Start out in cart racing and you do not need to be of street legal driving age but you will need a guardian if you are under 18. you have to get in and do it. Most successful race car drivers were born into it or have at least had a lot of family support. If you have the money there are racing schools like Skip Barber that will give you the basics.
Good luck, be safe!

I did not race (no money or time) until I was in my forties. I then raced in England where I would recommend anyone to come for tight, competitive, hard, racing.
Get a car, get qualified, then wonder why you are 2 seconds off the pace. Practise, practise, then you are one second off the pace. Then realise that suddenly you can carry more speed through the really fast dangerous corners. Get on pole position! Win races. I was lucky enough to do it all.

To become a race car driver, you would have to first be old enough to drive, know how to drive, have a race car, get a sponsor, and practice, practice, practice!

Well a lot of professinals start off in go-karts you need to be dedicated focused know how to drive of course so after go-karts you move up sometimes. Some ppl (who want to b open wheeled racers but other drivers myte too!) go to England (Danica Patrick Bobby Rahal) and then you just typically move up in the series that u want to b in mechanical experience helps too! :-)
If you just want to just race for fun just try go-karts! um if it's drag racing you want to do there's probably sytes and stuff you could go to! GOOD LUCK! HAVE FUN!
try the syte below idk I just found it! Have fun!
