I have no idea. Really.

A woman can only conceive when she ovulates. (No egg, no baby--it isn't magic!!) You ovulate about 2 weeks (usually 12-16 days) before your *next* period, regardless of how long your cycle is.

So...if you have 32 day cycles, you will probably ovulate between days 16 and 20. Sperm can live up to 5 days in the female body *if* conditions are good (only a few hours otherwise). (The egg only lives 6-12 hours--or occasionally as long as 24 hoursl.) So the earliest you could get pregnant with a 32 day cycle is day 11. (I'm assuming your period isn't 10 days long...) In this case you aren't fertile now.

If, on the other hand you have a 24 day cycle, and your period is 6 days long, you would have sex on day 7 and ovulate between days 8 and 12. You are *probably* fertile now.

Since you didn't give details about cycle length or what day you are on in your cycle, there is no way to be more specific.

Please ignore the uninformed answers. You do *not* "drop an egg" (ever!!), and ovulation does *not* take place during your period. You do *not* ovulate at or around day 14, even if some mythical average woman does. You are fertile for about 4-7 days a month (not 2), but the last week before your period you are absolutely *not* fertile. Even if you ovulated a week before your period and did conceive, by the time the fertilized egg got to the uterus (it takes at least about a week), there wouldn't be anywhere for it to implant because your period would have started already.

Please read the book listed in the sources section below. It has *accurate* information, rather than rumors, elementary school gossip, and old wive's tales.

The average woman's cycle is 28 days with day 1 being the first day of your period. On average, the egg is released on day 14. However, sperm can live in the woman's body for up to 5 days, so if you have a "typical" cycle, then having sex on day 9 could get you pregnant. If your period lasts 5-7 days, then even if you're "just off your period", you could get pregnant.

Of course, women's bodies vary. Some women have longer cycles, and some women don't have regular cycles (they vary from month to month). Also, even if you have a 28-day cycle, it's possible that your body doesn't ovulate on day 14 -- you might ovulate earlier or later, which affects when you could get pregnant.

Generally speaking, you will most likely not get pregnant by having sex during or immediately after your period, but it's still possible.

I haven't read it myself, but I've heard that the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" is great for helping you become more familiar with your body and figuring out when you are and aren't fertile.

Hope that helps!

They say your most fertile day is 14 days before your next period! So be careful!

Females are only really able to conceive for about 48 hours a month. Count 14 days from the first day of your last period, this will be the day you will ovulate (release and egg) ... to be on the safe side I always add a day on either side of the date you get. If you just finished your period now, chances are you will not get pregnant however nothing is ever for certain ... if you DONT want to get preggo, USE A CONDOM ! If you do want to get preggo .. kick back and relax it will happen when it is meant to happen. Good luck either way :)

No, you are more fertile in the middle of your cycle. Say you get your period, hyperthetically, on the first of every month, your more fertile around the 12th day onwards.

There is a slight chance but its not very great. Your greatest possibility of getting preg. would be about a week before your next period. If your ttc just start having sex since no one can really know when your egg is being dropped unless your temping or using an ovulation test.

ur not fertile righ t now... it depends on ur cycle, most women ovulate on the 14th day of there cycle... so count from the 1st day of ur period til the 14th day and that is most likely ur fertile day if u have a regular 28 day cycle...
