I thought it was a great movie. As far as the scary scale goes, it was more freaky/ suspenseful than anything. But there were some parts that made you jump out of your seat. I like the way they the movie in with events that have actually happened. I'd give it a 9.2 for total creepiness and much of that is do to the dogs and Mia Farrow, the psycho nanny!

Not really.
Didn't watch the original but critics say it pales in comparison and is a poor remake.
I'd give it a 2.5 out of 10, it really wasn't that scary compared to say Saw, The Ring, Nightmare on Elm Street, etc...
The shocks were even laughable. The kid who plays Damien the Devil's spawn is actually adorable:)
The only scare you'll ever get is the Nanny played by Mia Farrow.
Other than that nothing much to shout 'bout & Liev Schreiber's pretty hot.

Depends on what you consider scary. I think it's more psychologically scary (depending on your strength of faith, etc.) than scary scary. There are some jumpy parts when things pop out and somewhat graphic violence, but SCARY scary, not really.
In response to the whole "with special effects nowadays," I don't think the Omen NEEDED special effects. It's naturally inflicted harm caused by Satanic forces. You don't need any special effects for that.

On a scale of one to ten, I'd say it was about a 7 on the scaryness level...it depends on what scares you
there are a lot of sudden attacks, some scary/graphic deaths, and very scary nightmares that you see...
But even with the scarier parts, it isn't a very good movie. Nothing really happened in the plot.

10 being The Exorcist. I give it an eight.
It's darn freaky. About three times I spasmed (from shock) to violently that I hurt every muscle in my body. But at sometimes it seems to far in between these spots. I liked the plot, though.

well i heard it's at about a 7 but i wouldn't go see considering that it came out on 6/6/06 the devil's numbers 666 so i wouldn't go see it. cause some people say that when the old version came out people died, planes crashed, and their were about 100 murders. i saw that a mtv and they had newspaper articles and everything. i think that movie is CURSED. DON'T GO SEE IT.
