I really don't think so. Considering that most of our ancestors migrated here, learned to adapt, and created different generations of thinkers, professionals, athletes, etc, I think it would be unfair to blame the nation's problems on one race or ethnic group. I truly believe that the so-called "immigration problem" should be placed to the side so that the focus can be diverted back to solving the problems that were here before anyone ever considered immigration of any kind to be a problem. I also think that, for those who say that hispanics must learn English or get out, should learn to shut up and get some culture!
I think the nation is destroying itself. There just happens to be a professional position for every aspect of life, even those that don't need one. When I don't allow my daughter to do whatever everyone else's daughter is doing, she has the right to go to school and talk to a counselor who will tell her that I'm being unfair, or that I need to catch up with the times. She will then come home and talk to me as if I'm her age, disrespecting my position in my own home. She won't care that I'm trying to protect her or that I've been where she's trying to get.
Even marriage has lost the respect it deserves...has anyone had a look at the divorce rates?
There are so many people on death row, just waiting for the needle. While they're doing that, they're getting free clothing, food, rooming, cable, gym. It's all free because we're paying for it out of paychecks that we work like dogs to get!
No one knows who God is anymore, and even if they do, some will be afraid to admit it in public.
What we look like now has become more important that what we show ourselves to be. That alone is enough to begin a steep decline in any nation.
We no longer have manners, and it is ok to cuss someone out for the little trespass of looking at us the wrong way.
We've lost our respect, and we have forgotten what it took to become a nation.
So, is hispanic immigration destroying the United States? No, and even if they were trying, we don't need any help.

As a white Christian nation it is being changed and mostly not for the better. Immigration of all peoples to the USA and much of Europe is changing the social structure and not for the better. White population is on the decline in many places and the non white population is increasing very rapidly. Immigrants are bringing their cultures with them and trying to keep them. Especially the USA is becoming a multi lingual nation that will eventually break the nation apart. The USA will become over populated just like many other nations are now. Yes immigration will bring the down fall of the nation if some drastic measures are not taken. It probably is already too late.

Hispanics are doing no worse to America than the Italians, French, Germans, Polish, English, Africans, Apache, Navajo,...
How we handle immigration may have more serious consequences. Each of us have our opinions on this controversy and there is no ONE answer to what we should do. America is the most culturally diverse nation on the planet. Immigration is what made it such a mighty force in the world today. Immigration is here to stay. Now we must deal with it as individuals, families, communities and as a nation.
There is a group of immigrants we must be careful of. They are the Muslim Terrorists. They have been known to destroy millions of American lives.

This is largely debated opinion, but there are few unbiased studies that say it is ... few. One of the most notable myths is the idea that Hispanic immigrants have no interest in acquiring English. There has been no survey noted in the media indicating that this is an opinion held by many let alone a majority in the Hispanic immigrant communities. Most media interviews and stories I have seen in print demonstrate a strong interest in acquiring English skills.

No, and the economy would be in worse shape without them. Most Caucasians and blacks won't do the backbreaking and menial work that Hispanics do in this country!
I maybe mistaken, just maybe, but I'd be willing to bet that most of the the negativity toward Hispanics is by people who have never lived in a an area populated by them. Have never been friends or neighbors with Latinos. You're missing more than you know!

ILLEGAL immigration is destroying our economy (or at the very least having a HUGE effect).
I'm not hispanic, but I think it's really not fair for you to pin-point the hispanics on this one. They aren't the only ones entering the country illegally. There are Filipinos (I'm a filipino, but I just HAD to say this..cause it's true), Micronesians, Africans, Middle-Easterners... ALOT more than just the hispanics.

Why just Hispanics? Illegals do the job no one else wants to do. But at the same time there are American employers here ready to take advantage of them by making them work longer hours for shorter pay, even threatening to report them to Immigration officials. Remember that the next time you pass by the produce section at the supermarket. Who do you think gathered that stuff? The salad fairy? What about the next time you try on those designer jeans or sneakers.

New Immigrants to enter any country legally are the ones who are highly skilled in the and have expertise in the professions which are in high demand.
Legal immigrants help the country to grow at a rapid and constant speed, whereas illegal immigrants are a huge burden on the economy of the country. By giving amnesty to illegal immigrants Bush administration is bound to fail the social system of US. I strongly think that illegal immigrants around the world are just like cancer, they keep killing the social system.
In case of Canada which needs highly skilled immigrants to keep it strong and working, it is difficult for legal highly skilled immigrants to get entry into Canada and they have to wait for more than 3 years to receive permanent residency. Whereas those who just fly or flee from their country enter Canada and claim the refugee status life for them in Canada is easy. I would like to see reduction in accepting Refugees. Canada, US, UK and Australia all these countries need legal highly specialised immigrants and these countries should kick out illegal aliens.
Hell with the human rights groups, what do they know about the social structure of a country.
