I actually prefer the generalized continuum hypothesis. However, many set theorists take the view that CH is false and that a sufficiently strong large cardinal axiom will show this to be the case. Of course, that just begs the question of which large cardinal axioms are 'true'.

The question is WAY to broad to be answered without some definitions.
Tell me how do you define the word "set" and then I can try to answer.
If the "set" is not well defined the continuum hypothesis is meaningless.
