I have a very dear friend that I'm concerned about, her Doctor keeps telling her she has a disease that will eventially cause dementia, but he is not sure why or the cause. She is only 45. Tests have shown its not a tumor, but he keeps telling her that anywhere from 1 to 10 years she will be in complete dementia. Any Ideas? Help Please!

Hmmm. This is a tough one. Is this a neurologist telling her this? If not, she needs one. Now. And she needs advice on potentially delaying therapies----an aricept like drug or high dose vitamin E or something similar. Does this disease have a name? Good luck.
