Persistent bad breath is also known as Halitosis. It is usually a symptom of an underlying problem. It does not come from the stomach.
Anaerobic bacteria are the odor causing kind of bacteria and they can not live in the presence of oxygen. As your oxygen levels decrease, the anaerobic bacteria increase.
Saliva is used as an irrigation system for the mouth. It washes away the debris and bacteria in the mouth and from the tongue. When the flow of saliva is decreased or the growth of anaerobic bacteria is stimulated, this will cause bad breath.

Have you checked with a doctor. Sometime stomach problems and indigestion can cause it.
Also plaque build up on your teeth is a biggy that many people don't realize...so you may want to see a dentist.

Sounds Like you have acid reflux or a hiatel hernia, See your Doc. I had the same problem and I'm now taking Nexium, It's great, but unfortunately I waited to long and now I have Barrett's Esophagus, which is caused by acid coming up from your stomach. I'm 90% more likely to get cancer in my esophagus. You don't want that! See your Doctor! Good Luck!

It could be due to acid reflux which makes terrible smells from the acid. Try a prescription medication called Protonix. It works wonderfully. There is a 3 step breath program which is sold on QVC as well. It could be post nasal drop as well.

Get a tongue scrapper. Make sure you floss at least once a day and brush your teeth 2 to 3 times a day and especially before you go to bed. Use Listerine Mouth Wash before bed, too. Some people say eating parsley helps. Talk to your dentist or doc.

Try eating Yogurt at least twice a day. You may need that particular bacteria in the culture. My aunt had the same problem and also a good friend of mine and it made a dramatic difference. And yes, the mouth cleansing goes along with it.

I know someone close who has a kind of unfresh smell emitting from their mouth. Is it from the stomach, I don't know, probably. She never seem to find out why this is.

There are tablets you can take for this now. Call your pharmacist and they can tell you what it is.
