Dong Quai Root (Angelica sinensis) 550.00 mg

I ride my bicycle to and from work on a daily basis. I’ve been taking a Chinese herb, via GNC - Dong Quai Root (Angelica sinensis) 550.00 mg.

I noticed a huge improvement in my endurance and speed. For example, my roommate was driving her “2006 Hyundai Tiburon GT V6” coupe, and I managed to barely keep up with her on my bicycle. It was on a residential road, for about 3 miles.

Are there any negative side effects?

I am an alternative medicinal therapist. There are no bad side effects from this BUT, when taking herbal medicines you must have what is called a 'rest period' from them. I always advise my patients that after every 4 to 6 weeks they must stop them for one week. You should do the same. The only exception is Garlic and Evening Primrose oils, these can be taken all year round. The herb you are taking is usually taken for 'woman's' problems why don't you try Ginseng instead. It's not a herb I would prescribe for an energy boost.

Tong Kuai is not meant for long term and even a daily basis is not so good. I mean "everything" if done too far was not good. But seriously, Tong Kuai is not for long term basis. Every one in a while is ok.

You'll get "overheated" in chinese medicine terms. It's supposed to be good for the blood and is regularly taken by women during their menses.

You kept up with an automobile while riding a bicycle? Yeah, right - as long as she was driving in reverse! Yes, the most prominent side effect of alternative medicine is that it turns devotees into liars. And you haven't even got the grace to be ashamed of yourself. Yo - go play in traffic - blindfolded - and clean up the gene pool! Such lies are despicable!!!
