Their final 3 exhibition games before the World Cup started the US played like crap and only a handfull of starters where actually there to play. There is no chemistry with the team right now. When your best players (Renya, Donovan, and Beasley) have played together only 59 minutes in the last 2 years. (Fact they brought up during the match against the CZECH REPUBLIC) How can you expect a group of guys to go out and beat the number 2 ranked team in the world. It just not going to happen. If we didn't have Kasey Keller (argueably the best GK at the World Cup) we might have lost by more than 3 goals. Wait til Saturday thou, I think that the US will come out and prove that they deserve to be ranked 5th in the world and beat Italy for the first time ever.

First off, they've only played one game. I think the reason they didn't play well is because they are looking ahead. They are in a tough division (it's considered the second most difficult). Then if they make it out of that, most likely as the second place team, they will play the winner of Brazil's division.(ie Brazil).
But anything could happen. Brazil hasn't been looking that unbeatable lately, they lost to Ecuador in the friendlies. Maybe they will only be second in there division. Anyway, Bruce Arena needs to get them thinking about one game at a time. Most likely he is already working on that. I think they will play better against Italy.

The US is the only country in the world that doesn't think soccer is a real sport, even thought the ENTIRE rest of the world loves it and plays it.
