The reason that you can't find many people to help you IS the VERY SAME reason that they can afford to sell at DISCOUNT prices....fewer wages to pay creates extremely low overhead....and yes that is sacrificing customer service for price, and while many might not like it.....it has obviously worked, because just about all of us have sold our souls to walmart: we shop there, buy groceries, some even have banks, salons, Mcdonalds stores, and a plethora of other revenue generating stores.....

Payroll dose have some factor but most of the time all the ones on the sales floor are up cashiering cause of all the customers in the store and they want to get them out as fast as they can. Or do you want to wait for 5 hours to check out for that gallon of milk you just ran in for.

GOOD QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wished I knew the answer....and when and if you do find an employee that act like it just kills them to assist you...I try to not shop there due to these very reasons...sales/deals..not worth it if they are going to sacrifice customer service. In addition, I have heard they pay their employees a minimum..limit their overtime....stress the importance of them donating to Wal-mart's charities....I guess their morale is low due to all of this..mine would be!!!
