I am 41 and had one last year. You have to make sure you use protection because all you are doing is burning the lining of your uterus, so you still have your ovaries producing eggs which could still be fertilized during sex except they could implant in your fallopian tubes causing an etopic pregnancy. I definitely would recommend it. The only drawback is that you still have all the symptoms except the bloating of your period. The good thing is when ever you are cranky you can just say "it must be my time" because you don't really know when that is anymore!! However, I do have a light discharge once a month that I have to wear a pantyliner for. But it is definitely worth it, nothing like having a period

I would have had it in a heartbeat if my doctor would let me. She talked me into going back on pills instead, and I still have the worst time with my periods. I would say go for it.
