i've used black mascara since forever and have been thinking about switching to clear since i have ok eyelashes and i just want to know other opinions.

I love Maybelline's clear mascara, although I can't find it anymore. I actually like both clear and black mascaras, it just depends on the occassion.
If you're planning on wearing eye liner, then wear clear mascara because you don't need the extra black. But if you are planning on not wearing any makeup, then black mascara is the solution. I use Maybelline's XXL Volume, IT IS OFF THE HOOK.

The choice between using clear or black mascara depends on your mood. Clear mascara dosen't emphasis your eye lashes--it separates them.Using black mascara adds a more dramatic effect to your eyes--which is appropriate for flirty eyes and a more "fixed" look. I personally use clear mascara on my eyebrows just to keep them brushed up correctly and black mascara daily on my lashes. I strongly suggest not falling into a makeup rut by doing the same thing all the time. Change your mascara up depending on your mood. Have FUN!

Yes. Clear mascara conditions the eyelashes, while regular mascara doesn't do much for the lashes.

I personally like black mascara. And actually, I have used petroleum jelly on my eyelashes and it works great. Just a little though, don't gob it on. But black mascara is still my #1 choice any day. :]

Are you just trying to simplify your look? If you want some drama use the black- depending on your coloring you can use a dark brown.
Let's face it- the eyes are the window to your soul and bringing them out without overwhelming your face can be tricky. Clear doesnt do a lot for you contrary to popular belief. Try taking a self portrait with your digi cam. Then try on black. You will see what I mean. Just dont gob on several layers and pile on tons of liner and shadow.
Make up is a lot of fun. Play with it and see what you like.

Clear mascara is GREAT! You may also want to try a lash darkener sometime. It will give you a little bit of a thicker looking lash.

clear mascara is better and if it accidently got in ur eyes, it wouldn't be as bad as if black mascara got in ur eyes.

Neither is better for you, but I think that black mascara looks better because I think it looks more natural. ^-^
