I don't have any factual evidence or research but it's certainley possible. Certain types of color blindness (red, green, I think) are as common as 1 in 20 for men.
It's a sex-linked gene meaning vastly more men get it than women. Like baldness.

There is a very good chance becuase more men than women are colorblind. But maybe at that time... they really didn't have a full understanding of what color blind was.

I've never heard that he wa color blind but I do remember learning that he grew up in a log cabin and learned to read by candel light and that his eye sight was poor.

Maybe.
Lincoln was diagnosed as being colour blind.....but the depth of this deficiency was never fully established.
