He's never jealous. He practically encourages me to go out with other men. He's never concerned about unknown cell numbers. if i go out and stay for 2 days, he dosent ask me where I've been. Nothing bothers him. He says its because he trusts me so much. It has really affected my self esteem. It's as if any other man could swipe me away at any time and he wouldnt care. I also strongly suspect he is cheating. Does he love me or is he using me?

You know, everything you've said about him makes him sound very confident. He's never jealous. He's not concerned about unknown phone humbers. He says that he trusts you... Do you think it's possible that you have grown accustomed to relationships with jealous, petty people?
I think the only thing you've said that raises my eyebrow is that you can stay out for 2 days without his asking where you've been. If my man didn't come home for 2 days, I would think that he might have been in a car accident or worse!
If I were you, I would go over to him right now (and this is a face to face conversation, not IM, cell phone or email). I would ask him to remember the time that you were gone for 2 days and ask him why it was that he wasn't the least bit worried about you. I would then tell him that his not asking where you were made you feel that he doesn't care about you very much. Then, I would ask him why it is that he didn't seem the least bit worried or concerned about your absence. I would then tell him that his "hands-off" approach to relationships makes you feel unloved and that you would like to know where you stand with him. It is always better to know than to wonder. Don't be afraid: ask him how he really feels.

Um. Why not talk to him about Open relationships. Maybe he is a believer of them. If not, and he says he trust you, I wouldn't stay with him one more minute. He is setting you up to fall and then he will blame you throughout the rest of the relationship.
