if a parent has to pay child support every week 52 weeks a year and the child doesnt get to see a parent only 1/2 of this only on the weekends . whats wrong with this picture ?? is there any web sites that fight for equal rights for both parents that treat both as equals to where the non custodial parent doesnt get a royal screwing ?

I have joint custody of my son also. My Ex is primary and I'm secondary. In the settlement, I get my son every weekend. I should have also put in there that I get him during my vacations. This would have made it so that he spend over 105 nights a year with me. If I had done that, then child support would have been cut and I would also get to claim him in my taxes. The funny thing is that my son does go with me on vacations but it isn't in the papers so I'd have to refile the child support and who knows what would happen then. So I figure it's better just to leave it alone.

It all depends on what state you are in. Just google divorce law/child support for your state. You should only be paying based on your income and the amount of time you and your ex have the child. GOOD LUCK!!

talk to a lawyer and see what your otions are and what can be done. I think joint custody is a good idea here!

to change the visitation you would have to go back to court...... that is about the only way you can change things... talk to a lawyer and go from there........ God bless
