It sells newspapers. I doubt whether there is that much friction in reality. I also agree with Mad Mav that it is to the benefit of politicians to maintain a degree of racism, so they can oretend to work to solve it. Some, e.g., Jesse Jackson and his ilk, would have to get real jobs if racism were ever stamped out!

There has been a lot of hate directed to different races in America's past, despite that this is suppose to be the land of the free, and equal opportunity. We just haven't lived passed what our forefathers did, and what some still do today. Its not just America either lots of other countries have racism and prejudice.

In today's world I dont think Americans focus to much on race but on economic status and education. If there is any discrimination it is based on what you know and how you represent yourself. If americans due focus on race is because that particular race has portrayed itself in a bad way.

America is not a very racist country at all, and still Americans continually try to improve their attitudes even more. Most countries in Asia are far, far more 'racist.'

Politicians like to create victims so they can use them to buy votes. If you can convince a group of people that they are being held back you can then control them.
