sometimes i want to wash my hair but my moms says i cant because its bad so i need to know from a doctor or anyone if i can or can not wash my hair when im in my period?

i can not think of one reason why your mom would say such a thing, but, yes, like everyone has said so far, I have to agree. There is no reason why you shouldn't wash your hair when you're on your period. Like one of the people answered, there really isn't anything you can not do while you're on your period. Well, I wouldn't recommend sex as it's, well, just really messy. But really...wash your hair!

there is no reason why you cant wash your hair during menses. ( your period) i am not sure how your mother heard this but it sounds like some kind of old wives tale to me. And i am a licensed paramedic. wash your hair all you like.

I have never heard of such a thing. However, I have heard that it's actually good for your hair if you only wash it every other day. So that way you're not constantly stripping all of the oils from your hair.

Wash away. You can do anything you feel like doing while on your period. Don't let old wives tales ruin your life.

Young lady there is no medical evidence anywhere that states that you shouldn't wash your hair while you have your 'friend'. In fact good hygeine is of the utmost importance during that time because of your hormonal surges.

no. this is an old wives tale......just like swimming when we had our period. Our grandmother's and great-grandmothers did not understand the body's functions completely. Hince the "old wives tales"
