I have played all kinds of sprort since having vertabrae fusion. I that every time I do something physical there is a risk of reinjuring my neck but if I do no exercise then I risk calcium build ups. I would be careful slidding into bases though. There is a risk of a whiplash in those circumstances. I might not slide depending on what my body was telling me.

I am 31, and have Ankylosing Spondylitis (causes fusing of the spinal column and pelvic area....I play softball on a regular basis....I just have to judge my condition on a daily basis and know when not to over do it. Be careful and have fun....
