i am due in sept with a boy, and am really small!!! people keep telling me this and i am getting really paranoid waiting for this baby to show more. i have a def bigger and rounded belly, but so many women are bigger than me. i am so worried that my baby is too small.the midwife is not concerned, i am measuring right on the mark for my 26 weeks, but why are some women so much bigger? everyone keeps telling me that i will grow, but i am so scared i won't! i keep trying to dress my belly more and am really stressed about my size. any help or similar experiences would be great. i think the baby is ok as he is a constant mover and is growing stronger all the time. thanks all

I did not go into maternity clothes until 26 weeks. The doctor is checking your measurements each visit. If they were concerned, they would send you for more testing. I hated when people would tell me that I didn't look pregnant... it was frustrating. I kept thinking.. I am pregnant, I know I am pregnant, can't you just say I look good for being as pregnant as I was rather than "Oh you barely look pregnant" At 9 months pregnant, I looked less pregnant than my friend did who was 5 months.
I am tall so the baby had a lot of room to grow. You may be carrying more in your back, or just have a body type that does not show it. Who knows you may pop soon and wake up one morning and look and say "there's my belly".

You really should not worry! Firstly, I take it that this maybe your first child and that you might be petite? Rest assured, every woman is different and not all women carry their child the same. There even have been cases to occur that women who do not have frequent menses have given birth to healthy babies not even knowing that they were pregnant. For example, I am a heavy-set woman and I lost 20 pounds during my pregnancy. While this was causing me much frustration and confusion my doctor re-assured me that my baby was indeed healthy. If your nurse-midwife states that are no problems with your pregnancy you should try to relax. The extra stress of worrying might cause problems as well. I wish you the best of luck & congratulations!

everyones bellys are different you grow at different stages. just because u look small doesn't mean the baby is small because i look fairly small and my baby is actully bigger than what it should be. It's the uterus that size you should be worried about not the size of ur belly. plus your only 26 weeks when you get to 32 weeks maybe a little eariler or later you will really start to pop take a look at the site below it has a heap of pregnant belly pictures

Don't worry about it. As long as the midwife said you and the baby are fine...everyone and every pregnancy is different. I have 2 boys and both bellies were different. My first belly was big and wide (4 lbs. 2 oz.) and my second was very tiny and narrow (7 lbs. 3 oz.). Congratulations and good luck!

size vary in different people just look at it in the positive way as long as the doctors say you are okay. Stop stressing over the small stuff and look at it as a blessing that you are getting the help you need and you are right on mark. I promise you all pregnancies are not the same.

DONT STRESS AND WORRY! some women get big (like i did) and some dont. (my mom and cosin) My cousin didnt show at all until 10 month and then she looked as if she gained alittle weight. she only went up 1-2 dress sizes. not very big at all. dont worry. if your midwife is ok with it. be happy. and i wish you the best of luck for you and the baby.

As long as the doc is not worried, then you are fine. You are very lucky! I never got very big either. It is probable the way you are built. I have a long torso, so my belly had a lot of room. People with very short torsos get a lot bigger. It could also be your metabolism. Don't worry about it.

My friend was just like you when she was pregnant and her doctor told her as long as you measure on your mark for your week you are fine. He also said every woman's pregnancy is different and everyone woman is different. So I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. Think of it this way less weight to loose after wards:)
