Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here, was the first song I learned. It's very easy once you learn the chord progressions.

Bob Dylan - House of the Rising Sun, is also an easy one. Just be careful of that F chord. It's tricky when you first learn it.

Edit: Oh! You've been playing for 8 months. I missed that little tidbit the first time.

Matalica - Nothing Else Matters is fairly easy to learn until they get into the solo stuff. I've only had enouph patients to learn the entro.

Chris Rice - Deep Enouph to Dream is also a nice one to learn. The finger picking is beautiful even if you don't agree with the Christian theme.

The Beatles - Blackbird is very easy. Most of the finger placements are based on 2 strings, and just move up and down the fretboard rather than changing position.

Hope this helps :)

I play also but if you been playing for 8 months then challenge yourself a little more. Crazy Train is easy to play but challenges you at the same time with the chord changes. Try that and old Black Sabbath stuff is easy to learn. Then when you feel brave try some Rhandy Rhoads harder stuff like Over the Mountain.

I hear Smoke on the water is the easiest song to learn!
