Then pee. People have all of their bodily functions occur during labor, don't be embarrassed, the doctors expect it. If you have an epidural, or need a c-section, the doctors will put a catheter in, and then you won't have to worry about it. Good luck in your labor and new motherhood, it is an adventure.

The nurses will make you pee during labor. If you don't, then they might use a cathetor (sp?). Happened to me because I couldn't urinate due to the strength and closeness of my contractions.
BTW you will not have control over other bodily functions while pushing. It's a messy process but the result is worth it.

Urine is sterlie when it first issues from the male or female urethra. It is used to wash wounds in battlefield conditions when there is no sterile water available. The ancient Aztec physicians knew and used it hundreds of years ago. The fluid should be moped up though. Faeces (+ excrement = ****), is loaded with bacteria and it should be removed and the area disinfected thoroughly. These bacteria can cause life threatening infections. Faeces have been used to poison arrowheads, for thousands of years, and the Vietcong used it to coat "punji sticks" during the vietnam war.

during the first few stages of labor your body gets itself ready by urinating and having a b.m. Having a b.m is harder to do because of the fear of pushing out the b.m. might push out the baby. Don't worry. Most women have b.m during delivery. That is normal. Doctors and nurses have seen it all the time and you don't even realize it. It is something your husbands says after, then you want to die of embarrassment. lol Your body will take care of itself. Just relax and enjoy the process of giving birth.

that's the last thing on your mind if you had to pee. You wouldn't care who was there, you'd just do it as you lay there!
