1.Evil Dead/Army of Darkness
The series is probably one of the weirdest/funniest horror movies i've ever seen. Evil Dead 2 was good, but just....i don't know where to begin with that one.

2.Saw
This is more of a psychological movie, but in a time when remakes are running rampant, this movie showed something origional.

3. Halloween 1
This was the orgional of horror movies. Anyone who hasn't seen this should be shot

4. Exorcist
When this movie came out, it shocked people, you had Linda Blair cursing up a storm, and that just wasn't something 12 year olds did then. I think if someone walks away from a movie, they need to be shocked.

5. Masque of the Red Death
Ah Edgar Allen Poe.....so much to say about him. This movie, while it was low budget, is one i have never forgotten. It follows along the story line of a plague brought on a town.

I think people should say why they like movies anyway, whats the point in talking about a movie if no one knows what it's about?

This is in no real order. All of these could be considered number 1!

Texas Chainsaw because at it's time, they really wen't out on a ledge to make this movie happen and it was very scary for it's time.

The Exorcist - Probably the most scariest out of them all and really made you think.

Psycho - This was classic! Who thought it was Norman Bates all of long. Only when the bodies started piling up. What a twisted turn of events.

Night of the living dead - This horror movie was just scary. In 1968 this movie made people freak out!

Alien - This was not only a great horror movie but was the best science fiction movie.

Child's Play 1 and 2 - I like the whole toy factory scene and the song is scary

The Exorcist- it was one the first scary movies I've seen. and when she twists her head and walks backwards, that was creepy

The Night of the Living Dead- all the remakes, well it was a really good movie and I remember I had nightmares

Pet Cemmetary 1 and 2- that little boy was so cute and dangerous. It was sad when the father stabs the boy and the boy says "no fair, no fair"

The Shining- that movie is so creepy and Jack Nicholson is so scary in that movie. I have also seen the new sci-fi version and though the main character is not the same the ghosts are even scarier. "REDRUM" - MURDER (that is my favorite part and the creepy ghost lady and children)

1. The Descent - one of the ONLY horror movies that actually made me jump more than once. This film is everything that The Cave wasn't.

2. High Tension - This has got to be THE single best psychological trip you'll ever see.

3. The August Underground films - the most real simulated snuff films around. THE most brutal films you'll ever see.

4. Murder-Set-Pieces - Another extreme, brutal film. Very, very graphic, but yet the story is very enticing.

5. The Omen (1976) - First movie to ever scare the living hell out of me.

Not in order, but definitely scary to me. My top 5 are...

1. "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" - Just to know it's based on a true story, it makes it creepier. The scenes were so realistic and the cast was superb.

2. "Saw" - It was so gross, disturbing, disgusting, the way it plays with your mind, and the killer's game...it was just perfect.
I couldn't watch it alone.

3. "The Blair Witch Project" - A great psychological thriller. You don't see anything, just clues, which makes it even scarier.

4. "An American Haunting" - Based on true events, again makes for a very interesting and scary movie.

5. "The Village" - Definitely one of the best thrillers. Scary scenes and an ending that will take your breath away.

Saw & Saw 2
Both these films were so realistic that they are truly believable. Plus serial killers are my cup of tea.

The Ring
Undead kids scare the crap out of people, but the second film was a joke.

The Blair Witch Project
Not being able to see what the hell was happening made this one even more frightening.

The original Night of the Living Dead
Wow now that movie is a classic, it truly showed people what horror could be in it's day.

Hope ya like.

Yeah thanks for taking me down the creepy memory road. For the scariest movies I have seen I seen when I was little(under 10). My brother was a horror nut so I seen everything made back in the day. To this day it takes a lot to scare me but these movies still scare the P out of me that I probably will never see them again.
#1 The Exorcist: Her head spun all the way around and she spewed pea soup. Spent one summer thinking I was possessed.
#2 The Omen (original): The music, the kid being so evil to kill everyone who crossed him. That and my brother kept telling me I had 666 behind my ear. I never could see behind my ear in the mirror to prove to myself I didn't. That P***k.
#3 The Amityville Horror: Because it really happened and showed how hateful spirits could be. My brother even went to New York and took his picture in front of the real house. Freak.
#4 Poltergeist: Once again thanks big brother. He had a trap door in his room that went to the homemade basement my brothers and dad dug out. He had me convined that they found Indian skeletons when they were digging. I didn't go in that room alone EVER!
#5 The Trilogy of Terror: One story involved a doll that had a chain around it and if the chain came off the doll came to life. I haven't seen that movie for 25 years but I still remember it vividly.
Scary stuff.

1. The Exorcist...it's based on a real situation, my mom knew the Jesuit priest.
2. Halloween 1
3. Halloween 6
4. Halloween H2O
(I LOVE certain scenes in each of the Halloween movies, and basically it comes across more realistically than Freddie/Jason, etc....Michael's just so crazy he keeps on coming even if shot, for example!)
5. JAWS. Technically I guess not horror -- but it sure scared the you know what out of tons of people when they first saw it, me included!
