First of all: congratulations! Yes, honey, you ARE pregnant. and, it does take some time to be able to hear the heartbeat. remember, this "baby" is very tiny right now, probably the size of a peanut! Crazy, right?
So, enjoy, rejoice! You are pregnant.. if your doc says so and you're had tests to confirm it!

If u r in a doctor's office and they tell you u r pregnant, U R !!!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have been crossing everything you have except your legs and praying, hoping, and every other thing u could and it has finally happened!!!!!!!!!!!! Did you just finally give up and quit thinking about it? That is when I got pregnant with my little girl. I decided to buy a car and started thinking about that and bam, I was pregnant! It is soooooooooooo wonderful!!!!!!!!! You will enjoy it even if you develop morning sickness or not. It is the most wonderful gift God gives a woman to carry a child is her womb. And then to give birth to it and lay your eyes on the baby for the first time, is magical. The ultrasounds are wonderful but to behold the little one with its skins and muscles and you can tell if it looks like mom or dad, is truly the most holy of moments!!! I am sooooooo happy for you. If the doctors office said it, I would believe it. Good luck on carrying the young one to term!! Eat right and get enough rest!!!

Congratulations Mummy!
It's completely understandable why you're feeling unsure at the moment. But you're only 6 weeks on, so don't stress yourself up about your baby's heartbeat, as you won't get to hear that till roughly 4-6 weeks more. In the meantime, go give yourself a well deserved spa treatment, get some pregnancy books for both you and your husband, and you're on your way to beginning a fabulous new journey of your life!
And yes, the doctor wouldn't risk his/ her license by telling you're pregnant if you're not! :)

I am not usually one to answer a q with a q, but are you serious?? You don't hear the heartbeat until around 12 weeks. Technically the heart has not formed yet. Right now your zygote is just a bunch of dividing cells. Congratulations, take it easy and read everything you can get your hands on! Best of luck!
