Diamonds are my absolute favorite.
Rubies come next.
My birthstone, a sapphire, is third.
Technically, I like most of them. I am not crazy over yellow (topaz...amber with the bug imbedded) or green gems (emeralds...though I have some as they are my husband's favorites) but it has more to do with color than the stones themselves.

OPAL! Lots of superstition, various colors. I have 2 opal rings and the stones look nothing alike.

I like them all, diamonds, rubies, opal, everything. I have to stick with emeralds though, because they are pretty rare. You can see diamonds everyday, but emeralds... wow... those are few & far between.
