The simplest answer would be the same reason they have Human Validation Input strings for. So they know it's not a compromised or infected computer drone sending useless spam. Or you mistyped your e-mail address.

In other words... that the person sending the e-mail is really you, not an automated, programmed virus for example.

Hope this helps.

Sometimes people write their email address wrong and they want to check if the one that they have is right. You can always get a shorter email address or use copy and paste. It's basically the same concept as typing your password twice on forms.

One way to fill out forms faster (without getting all the adware/spyware crap) is to use Roboform. Once you input your info, you can then just hit a button and poof, it inputs all your stuff into contest forms or whatever. There are some forms it can't see/input into, but by and large, I've found it very handy and a good cure for tired hands if one enters a lot of contests and/or surfs for freebies and stuff. Hope that helps.

This is because if you screw up writing the E-mail the first time you won't do it the second time and it gives you a chance to correct your mistake.

Often companies send confirmations by E-mail which you wouldn't get if you failed to put your E-mail correctly in the first time.

Others use E-mails to get your password back so if the E-mail is wrong, they would be e-mailing your password to the wrong place.

This is to make sure you've typed it in correctly in the first place. Many people rush through online forms and make mistakes. Your e-mail address is important, and the webmaster wants to make sure it is correct.

Just incase you typed it wrong one of the times, so it doesn't send it to the wrong address.
