i have an hdtv anntenna connected to my pc, but i can only watch sdtv channels. am i missing something? it works fine on my other hdtvs. why not with my pc?

Yea you are probably trying to pick up hdtv from a broadcast station that doesnt broadcast in hdtv format! Look on the net for your local tv stations and see if they broadcast over the air in hdtv.

Are you hooking up the antenna to the digital input of your PC's monitor, or are you hooking it up via coaxial cable to a TV tuner card installed in your computer? In the second case, the TV tuner must support HDTV decoding as well as SDTV. There are only a few cards that do this currently.

could the problem be your pc is not hdtv compatable.
