It is very difficult to be an atheist; there is substantial comfort in believing there is an afterlife and a loving and caring God. However, if a person cannot bring themselves to believe that there is a God, then it would be dishonest of them to say they are religious (in a Christian sense). For some people the idea that there is a God is completely preposterous.

Yes, if you are arrogant enough to believe that nothing can possibly be greater than yourself. Or that, like many scientists you can explain the universe in the morning and then explain the meaning of life in the afternoon.
But, notwithstanding the above, the vast majority of so called athiests, can't. At least not if they were honest. If you have a soul, a bit of you must be aware of it's existence: Even if you are too proud, or arrogant, to admit it to other people.

Yes, by living a life of limited education. You have to open you eyes, in order to understand the everything has a beginning. Even this wonderful universe we live in had to have a beginning - if you accept the "big bang" theory, then someone or something very powerful and extremely intelligent had to bring it all together in order for the bang to happen.

I would say yes. I read somewhere that Christianity only makes up about 20% of the world's religion, and so if you think about it does this mean that 80% of the world is going to h*ll just because they may have a different or no belief system?

Uuhh...guess I'll be joining the atheist bandwagon. That way, I'll never die! But something tells me that you die no matter what faith, or lack thereof, you choose. And for that matter, don't Christians say that non-believers go to hell? If people didn't die not believing in god, jesus, allah and all that jazz, wouldn't hell be an awfully empty place?

I think that if a person was raised as an atheist; he or she knew only atheists all their lives, he or she could probably live and die in that state.
If I remember correctly, Communist countries did not allow religion--so probably many of those people lived and died that way.

Definitely. I find it much more difficult to believe that someone can honestly live and die as a Christian.

the true meaning of the word athiest means to have studied or looked into ALL religions and to come to the conclusion belief
that ALL are wrong and that there is no God at all in any form.
I find it hard to believe that anyone has done this so therefore I do not believe that anyone can be a true athiest.

God loves all people in this world, because he made us.He will not hate us if some of us don't believe in him.Jesus already forgave us when he was crucified,he took it all on him so his father woun't destroy us.There will be end,and it's near and we all will face God no matter if you are atheist or not....Life without God will not go any good direction....
