1) I grew up with it...
2) Not every player in the NFL is in for money, alot play for the love of the game (for instance Brett Favre)...
3) Why does everyone pick on the NFL, every other professional sport is "all about money" too, and not love of the game...
4) College is just as bad if you think about it, I know alot of guys who only play college ball for a free ride (many didn't need it), that's the same as playing for money and not love of the game!!!

Because it's still the same game. My question is: Why do people care about pro TEAMS when it's all about the money? Why do people still root for teams whent they're nothing more than a bunch of free agents... or future free agents? Is Terrell Owens REALLY a Cowboy? Is Charles Woodson REALLY a Packer? If you root for the teams, then you're rooting for the paychecks.
I'm still a huge NFL fan... but I don't pretend to be a fan of any one team. There are no 'teams' anymore.

It is not just about the money anymore...haven't you heard...it is a great place to meet other singles!!!! I saw that on the news one night. Anyway, I like going just because we have a chance of getting nailed in the head with a foul ball.

plus it's good for stats if you get picked...and, all about the money?? what about someone like t.o it's never been about the game with him...

Because people allow it. The mass media (publicity, marketing, sales, etc) follow what people allow it and produces "news". Unfortunatelly money sells money. This applies to every sport.

Because when I'm thinking about or watching baseball, I don't have to be thinking about:
Terrorists
The war in Iraq
Our economy
How the Liberals are destroying our country
The whole illegal immigrant thing
Work
Anything else I don't want to think about

I got better things to do with my time than to watch a bunch of millionaires blay with a ball.
My dog plays with a ball and he's more fun to watch.

even though the players are spoiled brats at times, you see plays being made that you can not see any where else.
