Would help if you divided by genre, or time period, at least. That might yield lists like:

Andres Segovia, John Williams, Christopher Parkening
Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, Django Reinhardt
Pat Metheny, Larry Carlton
Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page
Allan Holdsworth, Eddie Van Halen

Jimmy Hendrix was and Jimmy Page is
and next would be Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, The members
of the Band, Keith Richards, Ron Wood, Angus and I could go
on and on because there have been and are so many talented
guitarists in the world.

Jeff Beck. Name another guitarist who can play 300 notes per minute or make a one note guitar solo sound good.

Hendrix may have had a sonic barrage, but technically he didn't have the variety of depth of technique that Beck is capable of.

Eric Clapton, after that Jeff Healey, you could probably put Stevie Ray Vaughn right up there too, but I think he is dead, now. Yeah, AND Segovia, he taught Liona Boyd to play Classical acoustic.
