I'm trying to convince my parents why they should get me an iPod for my birthday, so I'm making a list of reasons.... If you have any to contribute, that would be *wonderful*!!! Thank you!

An iPod can hold several hundred CDs at once, whereas a discman plays one CD at a time and then you have to lug all those extra CDs around. You can carry around your entire CD collection. Also, iPod can hold podcasts, which are incredibly cool. Also, an iPod has a built-in calendar and stopwatch and alarm clock. Also, an iPod can play audiobooks. A video iPod can play movies and TV shows and video podcasts. An iPod can be used as an external hard drive, so you can carry around all your data. At Duke and other colleges, they give freshmen iPods to help them with their schedules, and Harvard posts many of its lectures as podcasts so students can listen to them again. Basically, tell M&D it's educational, is what I'm saying, then put all the noisy "rock and/or roll" on it you want...

You don't have to worry about a song skipping because the CD is scratched on an iPod. You can also jump from one artist to another.

The reason that i got my iPod was because i travel alot.Instead of carrying all of my Cd's around, i can put them all onto my ipod and only have 1 thing to carry around instead of 20 cd's and a Cd player.

regular CD's usually only hold about 20 songs while the ipod can hold thousands and it can also hold pics and video. the cd player is big and bulky and you would have to carry around multiple cd's and spare batteries (which can cost a lot over time), while the ipod recharges for hours of music

An iPod is like having 500 cds in your pocket.

1) If your parents are like mine, they complain about how much your backpack weighs and an ipod is much lighter than a bunch of CD's.

2) Also tell them (if your willing to) that you will do extra chores for say a week if you can get an ipod to "work of the expenses."

iPods are WAY better because you don't have to search for CDs! I'm pretty sure that it's way cheaper because you buy CDs which cost like $14.00 each or so, and with iPods, you get unlimited songs for a better price!
Good luck with getting your iPod :)!

It takes up a lot less space, too. I have my entire CD collection (over 200 discs) on my one little iPod. It makes for travelling with my music a whole lot easier!
