All of it. We are a nation of immigrants. If you mean first generation immigrants, then I suppose you could limit some of the contributions, but not in a real way: For as long as the US has been here we have relied on immigrant labor. Here's a short list: New York City (all of it), Chicago (all of it), the railroads (all of it), the 19th Century economy (almost all of it), California (all of it), etc. Look at the history of immigration and you will notice that every time period since the US has been a government (and even before that) there have been corresponding waves of immigration from countries outside the US. First Spanish, then French, then English....then German, Irish, German again, Eastern European, Chinese, Mexican, Chinese again, Japanese, Eastern European again, Mexican, etc. This country would not have been built at the rate it was without immigrants. In fact, it is pointless to even think about "America" as the concept we know without immigrants. They have touched everything.

There would be NONE without immigrants.
New York City is a city of immigrants.
Immigrants "bought" (stole) Manhattan for $24.00 worth of junk.
The Gangs of New York was all about immigrants.

everything from the very society we live in to the smog we breathe....without immigrants this country would still belong to the native americans....for better or for worse we will never know....but there probably wouldn't be so many casinos....really, though, there is not one aspect of our life today, or our government or anything that we consider "american" that is not, in some way, the direct product of immigrants.

Immigrants take jobs no one else want. They take jobs cutting the grass and shrubs, they clean dishes in restaurants, and during the wee hours of the morning in corporate buildings in NYC and every other city they clean the floors.
