Boston is a beatiful city, filled to the brim with irritating yuppies. If you can avoid the yuppies, you'll be OK. Don't go anywhere that's selling cashmere.

I was just there over the 4th of July 2005. We saw a great fireworks display on the Esplanade along the Charles river accompanied by the Boston Pops. Sightseeing is great, most historical sites are within walking distance of each other along what they call the Freedom Trail. The Theater district is compact and located just south of the Boston Commons. The restaurants are many and varied (my new favorite is Legal Seafood).

I'm from NY and love Boston. The historical architecture... you can go on a self-guide walking tour. The shopping and Fanueil Hall is awesome. The bars are great. Walking along the Charles River. Chinatown has maybe one or 2 good restaurants, that was disappointing... but for like $20 bucks, you can catch a bus ride to NY!

Boston is lovely and has lots to do for every interest. You can get around with or without a car - public transportation is very effective there. There are lots of museums and historical sites if that is what you are into, but there is excellent nightlife in many spots, sports, music and hiking. I like to walk around downtown and hang out in the park, go on the swan boats, and check out the public gardens. There is also good theater downtown. I also like to go to Walden Pond (a drive) or Singing Beach (a commuter rail ride). Feel free to contact me for more specifics according to your taste!

Boston is GORGEOUS. Trust me, you will adore it. It's a big bustling city but it has this totally unique old aspect to it - some of the buildings date back to the 1700's, and everything is quite old-fashioned. Boston is the closest to Europe you will ever get within America.

I live in Boston, it's really nice, you can walk everywhere and there's lots to see and do, plus a lot of great places to eat. Besides, how will you know if you like something or not if you don't try?

Boston is such a cool city. It's not nearly as big as New York, but it is great for just hanging out, and small enough for you to do lots of stuff in.
