Emotions of aggression are part of being masculine. Teen boys are just learning to feel said emotions and they don't handle them well.

I think that teens today like to fight because of today's parents. The parents aren,t being reasonable about anything today. In fact they r more ignorant then their children r. Teens r growing up in homes today where there is nothing but fighting and arguing all day long so this is what they r being taught. The parents arent teaching the lesson of reasoning they r teaching dont take nothing off of any1,fight for what u want(literally),show every1 whose the badest and they think that it is funny or something to be admired when its a shame and life for their children is going to be very difficult and it ok with them.

Hormones is usually the answer, but I believe that when you are young, you do not understand stress or pain. If things are going on at home that are new to you, and your emotional levels cannot cope, your blood could tend to boil. As you grow, your mind is still growing, believe it or not. So, it's pretty obvious why teens fight - they also wish to look tough, so that they seem able to deal with things better than most seem to. Hope that helps!

Think of a butterfly trying to get out of its cocoon. Teens have hormones going crazy inside as they aspire to become adults. They are concerned about their identity, they struggle for respect and try to assert themselves. A 15 yr old would always want his 14 yr old brother to 'know his place' and give him respect. While the 14 yr old wants to prove he is just as mature as his 15yr old brother...conflict. At every turn seniority and dominance is on the line. While focusing on education is good, focusing on achievement is better. It builds confidence in the achiever and challenges others.

As with any poor behavior habits, if they go unchecked, when they reach the teen years, it is magnified. There is a lot of "training" that youths get in our culture and violence is one of them. Ex. Movies, Video Games, Hip-Hop... many of these feed aggressive behavior.

Not all teens fight. If your child is one that is fighting you need to get to the root causes. You might need to change schools, get him/her counseling, change their circle of friends. Not one of these will be easy but it will be worth it.

it's to make a name of themselves. it's natural selection (Darwin's theory of "Survival of the Fittest") for a teenager.
