I honestly believe the majority was just tired of the democrats bullshit! Now that the Republicans have had it for a while.... Well aren't you tired of their BS too?

Same guy / Different face / Somewhat the same agenda!

- Republicans know how to run election campaigns. Democrats don't- at least not as well (although Clinton knew what he was doing). They're also ruthless, coniving, mud throwing, decietful (Florida voter list felons debacle, voting machines??)

- Republicans have bumper sticker mentality (ug, me crush terrorists). Dems are too nuanced and detailed (most of the public like/understand the former)

- Republicans stick to their guns on their principles and can hammer them into people's heads. They've got a backbone and are proud to be Conservative. Dems can't agree on anything let alone put forth coherent principles and leadership people can get behind. They should be having a field day now given the corruptions and screw ups by the R's. Dems don't seem to have a backbone either. Dems have allowed Liberal to become a dirty word (woosies). And some that have shown one (a bachbone), sometimes end up coming across as lunatics (Howard Dean? hiiyahh)

btw- I'm a Dem and wish the party could get its act together.
Or at least another viable party.

In the past it was because part of the Democratic party has gone so far left that some of the mainstream democrats have a hard time convincing others to vote their way.

Because the Dems agenda has slid so far left they aren't in touch with the voting public anymore. They think they are, but the last election shows they're really getting too radical for America (ok, the Americans that vote).

Or DID they? Hmmm....there's still debate over the 2000 and 2004 elections, and how much money is involved, and how many oil companies are involved, and as we've seen in recent months and the last couple years, evidence is starting to stack up against some of our 'representatives' specifically in the area of their resistance to corrupting influences, like Large Suitcases Full Of Money, AKA 'payola'. Money talks...
