Hey guys been strugglng cause i was shy since i was a kid. and that has left me dumb even as an adult, in that i don't understand concepts such as Finances, Realty, Taxes, Politics, and basic things that americans my age(26) know well because i didn't participate in anything as i grew. Even if i try to study it, i don't get it.... vocabularies and things, always when i have worked in places as a temp or something...i'm just alone in one room quiet, and people my age or younger carry conversations about politics, life, their relationships. etc.. with such ease.. but i can't understand much of what they say.. cause i don't understand the concepts. Any way to catch up?

You need to find a group of people that share your interests.

But if you truly want to learn more about the issues you mentioned, you'll have to read, research the Internet, watch TV and generally take an interest.

Probably the best thing to do is widen your vocabularly. Learn a few new words everyday and memorize them. Memorize the Presidents, memorize dates of important events, memorize stuff that relates to business or home ownership. Pick a subject and run with it.

If you need help, see if you can get private tutoring and join discussion groups that force you to learn and participate. Find a good friend or family member to help you.
