My best friend wants me to share a flat with her, we have never been boyfriend-girlfriend, and we are very different people. I think she is OK a lot of the time, but when she gets drunk she is so much trouble, and always causes problems. Is it best for me not to agree with living with such a person. I would struggle to find anything that we have in common.

Well I never did the guy-girl thing unless we were headed to live together before we got married..........I know, phew, ancient thoughts there!!!LOL However when I was younger, I lived with my best friend for awhile and it was the worst thing we could have done. We ended up having so much not in common and problems, that we didn't speak to each other, nor do we even 20 years later, how sad is that right? So don't ruin the friendship, find somebody else or a lower rent to do it yourself. Good luck!

If you are into anything other than straight relationships, this is not the place for you. In my experience, if you have doubts going into it, you should really listen to yourself. I have had a friendship of ten years end because I didn't listen to my doubts. We were great friends living apart, but I knew that too much of her would get to me and I was right.
Also, I had a male roommate at one point, and living with someone of the opposite sex can get a little complicated. Just a heads up if you do go into it.
Good luck.

I wouldn't do it. I'm helping a friend right now who is in the same situation and it is ruining their friendship. Think long and hard about it before you jump into anything. Don't turn a good situation into a bad one. Good Luck!!

Lay down some ground rules and go for it. The worst thing that can come out of this is that you get to hook up with her friends. No, really that is the worst thing.
