Real Food Daily is one of the best vegan restaraunts in Southern California. All of the food there is organic and amazing! There are currently two locations: one in Santa Monica just off of Third Street on Santa Monica Blvd, which makes it a nice place to stop after shopping all afternoon. The other location is close to the Beverley Center on La Cienega, in West Hollywood. I have been to both locations, and love them both in terms of atmosphere and service. It's fairly casual, and a great place for lunch and dinner! If you go there try the burrito with tofu, it's amazing!

Another great place is in Westwood near UCLA, called Native Foods. It's on Gayley, and has a great selection as well. This is the perfect place for lunch because it's very small, but the food is outstanding. My favorite is the meat-lover's pizza, because it's on a whole wheat pizza, and I also like ordering it since I haven't eaten meat in over three years!

Finally, there's the Urth Caffe. I have never eaten there myself, but it's very popular and apparently has some great vegetarian meals, and lots of different types of tea and coffees. It also serves meat, which might make it a bit more popular with your non-vegetarian friends when you are going out to eat. Urth Caffe has locations in West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Santa Monica. Definitely another place to check out when you have the chance!

Hope you enjoy these places. I don't live in LA anymore, but everytime I come back I run to Real Food Daily or Native Foods, so I'm sure you'll enjoy them! And if you really like them, both Real Food Daily and Native Foods have cookbooks you can buy. I know for sure you can get Ann Gentry's (RFD) at any book store, and it's worth it. The food is amazing!

Yes, there are so many.

A few good places I have been to recently:

Rahel Ethiopian Vegetarian Cuisine
1047 S Fairfax near Olympic
(323) 937-8401

California Vegan (vegetarian Thai)
7300 W Sunset Bl near La Brea
(323) 874-9079

Vegan Express (similar to California Vegan)
3217 Cahuenga West, at Barham
(323) 851-8837

Paru's vegetarian Indian restaurant
5140 Sunset Bl, west of Normandie
(323) 661-7600
This place is in the eastern part of Hollywood- a lush environment in the middle of the city. Great food, too.

I love the food at the India Sweets and Spices (that has already been mentioned) in Atwater Village, but the atmosphere isn't the best- styrofoam plates and plastic utensils. It's one of the best local places to get a good masala dosa.

One of my new favorite restaurants is
TRULY
5907 Hollywood Blvd (at Bronson)
www.trulyvegan.com
(vegan Thai, wraps, veggie burgers, etc).
Try the birdie burger!

Yes....there's Vegisoul at 1436 W Jefferson Blvd. Then there's Fatty's and Company, which doesn't have an extensive menu, but does have good food. They're at 1627 Colorado Blvd. You could also try Sante La Brea at 345 N La Brea Ave. Don't expect the service to be too quick, but the food is supposedly pretty good. India Sweets & Spices is at 3126 Los Feliz Blvd and is more of a fast food type place for vegetarians. It also is supposed to be very good.

Don't miss Inn of the Seventh Ray in Topanga. Delicious, unique, funky - good vegan, vegetarian and organic food in a very pretty outdoorsy setting.

Any good veggie restaurants in LA?

Isn't that akin to asking if there are any good Italian places in NY?
