Yup, the Swisher home run. As a Yankee fan, I wasn't too happy. I also remember a very depressing inside-the-park home run against the Red Sox last year where Jason Varitek hit a ball right by the diving Melky Cabrera. What is it about the Yanks and inside-the-parkers?

It was Nick Swisher Sunday, 6/11/06 Oak vs. NYY. Melky Cabrera was playing LF and Johnny Damon in CF. Cabrera didn't hear Damon call him off. Cabrera's glove hand socked Damon in the face as the 2 collided. Damon got up, retrieved the ball and threw it home. It was close but Swisher was safe. Pretty pathetic, huh?

I think there was one more recently (I think against the Yankees), but I know Kaz Matsui (now on the Rockies, was on the Mets) hit one back in April in his first at-bat (he's the only player in MLB history to hit a HR in his first At-Bat of the season 3 consecutive years).
