yes,
but what you don't know is that the canadian hospitals are filled to the brink. ambulances pick up injured people, and have to drive from hospital to hospital. looking for a place to leave them.
also,
in canada you pay about 80% of your earnings to the goverment. so think about having only 20% of your earnings to live on.

First no hospital is free, the ones in Canada are merley paid for or operated by the Government. First it is the issue of free enterprise, and we are not a socialist nation where the government owns business and limits free trade..
Bush doe snot support federal health insurance because the people just would not stand for it. The american people will not pay for it, heck they did not want to pay for just the little drug coverage that the medicare program was doing.
I would like to see free medical care for all, but then the issue is would american people be willing to give up thier rights to sue, would they be willing to wait for various operations, or not be allowed to have operations they want that the government did nto feel they needed.

Because it's the profit margin in the American medical industry that provides the majority of the world's medical advancements. By federalizing health insurance (ala Ms. Clinton), we could cut down on indivdual medical costs, but it would be at the expense of certain areas of research and development.
It would also place a cap on medical-related incomes, thereby severely hindering both the number and quality of persons willing to enter the medical field.

Because our government is controlled by special interest groups; Doctors, Lawyers, Jewish Lobbies, etc. Health Care should be a right enjoyed by all human beings especially in a country like the USA. I don't believe that there is a Republican or a Democrat or anyone else, at the present time, have the guts to stand up to any or some of the above lobbies. It is sad!

No hospital is FREE. Canadians pay for it through the various and sundry taxes.
On the private insurance part-- its the typical republican (conservative) position that government can't do those things as well as in the private sector (debatable depending on the topic). Well, except when it comes to big government programs that THEY want. THEY being defined as whomever happens to be in power (it applies to Dems too).

... Republicans say that the money funds better technology to fight diseases better... and that you don't have to wait months to use our health care system...
I say... a large part of the U.S. population can't afford the high price of both medical care and medical insurance... so if the majority can't afford it, it's not doing much good anyhow...
If you look at how much MANY of us are paying for health insurance... often $200 and $300 a month, even if you aren't sick... then clearly, a little more in taxes is a cheaper way to go...
