Learn how to monitor your female fertility by taking basal body temp (get thermometer in pharmacy) daily and monitoring cervical mucus discharges. Look for the mucus that is the clearest, stringiest and the most slippery. That is a sign of peak fertility. Then when you can see a fertile time by the data you collect on your body (write it all down in a little booklet), then you can time intercourse so that FRESHEST sperm are available for the FRESHEST egg. Ovulation predictor kits are also sold in pharmacies and can assist in the accuracy of timing of sex. LH is the hormone in the blood-urine that triggers ovulation.

Be sure you both are as healthy as can be. Good nutrition, exercise, no drugs, alcohol, smoking, toxic or junk food, etc.
Might be nice too if both of you had a pre-conception physical to see how healthy you both are. He could go to a sperm bank to donate and they will test the semen sample to see how high the QUALITY-QUANTITY of sperm is.

If husband runs a little hot, his sperm may be damaged. Some men put an ice pack on their testes daily for about an hour to help temp go down so sperm development can be optimized-maximized.

Infertility specialists say that you need to have been trying to conceive for a year before calling on them. Most couples can get PG within 3-4 m. Infertility dr will ask you to collect menstrual data for a month or two, so start keeping a daily log asap just in case you need to goto the dr.

BTW, IUDs can cause PID, pelvic inflammatory disease (bacteria, often chlamydia) which can cause scar tissue to form in tubes.

Email me if you meed more info.

Good luck

Did You try Basal Body Temperature? Search Yahoo for Basal Body Temperature and there are some good sites which gives you instruction to get. A BBT chart tells you something about when you ovulated in a particular month, but it can't tell you the exact moment to have sex (or uterine insemination) that same month. You have to chart your BBT for a few months and spot a pattern in your cycle before you can use it to predict when you're most fertile.
An ovulation predictor kit, on the other hand, can give you advanced warning of ovulation the first month you use it. The main drawback to the kits is that they can be expensive, running between $15 and $50 per cycle.

I was just finished this book today about three different women and their difficult pregnancy stories. One of the women had an IUD. When tests were run on her, the Dr. determined that she had severely scarred tubes, so much so that fertilization could not occur. The Dr. advised that the scarring came from what is called a "silent" infection from the IUD which produces no symptoms and usually heals itself on its own. The Silent infection destroyed her tubes, which caused her to be sterile, so to speak. I would definitely suggest seeing a specialist and having some tests run to make sure you're okay. They will probably do ultrasounds after injecting you with dye to see if there are any blockages.

My husband and I tried for almost 3 yrs then I went to spend Christmas with my family in York, UK (We live in Athens, Greece) on my return we became pregnant without even planning/thinking about it. Our daughter is now 3yrs. So before rushing off to expensive fertility clinics try a break from one another and I promise the reunion will bring the results you both wish for......good luck. PS..How come the six year old daughter you mention on your profile? Just curious.

i'd definately see a dr because the dr can rule out straight forward issues quite. If the ovulation tests are not any more exhibiting you that you're ovulating definately bypass to the dr which could be a straight forward situation to fix. do not provide up desire, after 10 years infertility, 3 miscarraiges and a million chemical pregnany i ultimately gave delivery to a captivating daughter. reliable success to you. God Bless

Like it or not, you and your husband both need complete medical evaluations. Your husband could have a low sperm count ( though the manly thing to say is it not my fault) or you could have ovarian, or tubal problems. This could only be determined by qualified medical personnel. So get the evaluation, then if all is ok, just relax and let nature take its course.

there are several things you can try. one, have him wear boxers instead of briefs, this raises the sperm count. two, after sex, lie with your feet elevated for 10 minutes or so (gravity, ya know). third, try having sex only once a week for awhile. uhhhh. how to put this delicately. the less often he shoots the more he has to shoot at one time?

Don't worry so much, just relax and let it happen, it seems like that when you relax and try not to think about it so much is when it always happens. Good luck to you!
