While there have been great satirists in the past, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart is the undisputed CHAMP of intelligent satire today. I am a middle aged woman who appreciated the brilliance and yes, some of the sillier bits, provided by the talented writers of The Daily Show. As one of the previous gifted writers, and actors of TDS, Cobert is an able and welcome addition with his own show. These talented writers offer more than just a one sided view of the world. I have been impressed with the ability Jon has to laugh at himself and not take himself or the show too seriously while giving those who SHOULD be serious every kind of he11.

They are good, but the greatest was Laugh-in. It was the first of it's kind. It was satirical, irreverent, and fast. It slammed the Establishment, Counter-culture, warmongers, hippies with equal ease. George Carlin got his big break on that show (Hippy Dippy Newsman).

i myself had to think of roughly this, and it dawned on me i've got been staring on the on a daily basis teach for the correspondents and the Colbert teach reason his schtick isn't old, while i hit upon Stewart sort of lame now, incredibly on account that he desperate that the on a daily basis teach is a potential and profound political medium, a minimum of Colbert embraces the pretend political medium it particularly is his character.
