DSL works over your land line. Oh so I see the confusion. You can get a new number through vonage or keep your old one or get both.

When you talk about getting a new number for dsl... that would mean you would have two phone lines through at&t and seperatily each would have it's own dsl service sounds very expensive.

If you no longer purchase phone service from at&t than as part of the package I think you won't have dsl either.

I'd cut them out all together get cable it's faster and causes fewer problem when it come to voip. You can sign up for a special offer and get service for 19.99 a month for 6 months also if you go to comcastoffers.com you can get a rebate (it worked for me) of 100$ and a free cable modem.

Other cable companies may have simular offers.
