Many phone systems will allow you to set the number shown to the recipient, since companies have dozens or hundreds of individual outgoing lines, and they'd prefer to have one number shown to everyone. I don't think you can do it without special equipment though.

You had better check with the FCC about that, it may not even be legal. There are ways to have your number be not displayed or come up as private or unknown, but I doubt if it is legal to hide your true calling number while displaying a false one.
