I love them both, but I think I like Nirvana a little more.

Nirvana set the stage that Pearl Jam has been playing on for a decade and a half. That said, Nirvana never had the opportunity to grow like PJ has. Overall Pearl Jam is a much more diverse band with great songs that are punk, classic rock, rock ballads and some tunes that just don't fit a label. They have continually evolved as a band but never lost sight of what made them great: their chemistry together and their fans. We will never know what Nirvana could have been so Pearl Jam wins hands down. How can you doubt a band that has been making honest, amazing music for 16 years? They still pack arenas today.

Pearl Jam. Really how good is a dead person? Pearl Jam is still touring and putting out music. Nirvana is dead. See. I win.
Nirvana didn't change the face of music. Pearl Jam has broken records as far as music downloads go. So going by that I am still sticking with Pearl Jam.

nirvana changed the face of music. pearl jam didnt. nirvana popped and went away when they were still huge. pearl jam should have. therefore, nirvana was better.

While Pearl Jam have survived the "grunge" movement and are clearly talented, Cobain's songs were just pure genius and connected with people on a deeper emotional level. Dave Grohl is one of rocks hardest skin-hammerers, and Krist Noveselic is one funny guy. NIRVANA!
