I find it funny that people have said The Clash were overrated and that the Sex Pistols were better. It's personal preference true, but in terms of musicianship and ability, out of the Sex Pistols and the Clash, definately the Clash.

The Pistols. They were the epitome of punk. Knock out one blinding album and then self destruct in an excessively dramatic way. The Ramones were alright although the conflict were given it somewhat incorrect. They tried to equivocate punk with a classification conflict thoughts-set and punk replaced into never about that on the starting up. Honourable mentions bypass to The lifeless Kennedys, X-Ray Spex and The Damned who i purchased tickets for very last evening to ascertain in December. can not wait.

Of the ones you named though, probably the Sex Pistols. Clash were overrated, Damned weren't that good until they turned goth, SLF? Well yeah, "Inflammable Material" is a fine album ( at least until the last track), and nobody can fault "Alternative Ulster", but they went downhill fast and as for the sad parody of themselves that they became in the 90's... ( Oh, but a special mention for "Silly Encores", that's very amusing... )
