no...red cars come with a punishment (playing the rest of the game a man down and the reciever being prohibited from the next match ) to severe with great effects on a team to be handed out like that...yes there are times when aggressive play and a desire to win crosses over to bad sportsmanship and nasty moves....the world cup does not need players or play of that manner and red cards and ejections are needed ....however this was not one of them and did not merit a red card!!!

No not at all. It was a pretty bad call. If they want to do that then a German player should of gotten one to in the match against poland because he did the same exact thing.
