Depends on the kind of roof that you have. There's a lot of different products that you can apply to the nonshingle, tile, etc., roofs. Go to one of the big-box stores and tell them about your situation and see what they suggest. It's not hard to do. You smear the stuff on with a squeegee. It can get hot has Hades up there, and if you're like me, you'll have almost as much on yourself as on the roof, so dress in old clothes and shoes and wear gloves. The hardest part for me is opening the bucket and stirring the goo.

the paint on type of asphalt will do very little and it is a possibility that the insurance company won,t insure the roof any longer if you paint it. check with them first.
